Rules for the Forum and Chat on tradesignal online (Netiquette)

Welcome to the forum and chat! Here you will encounter the opinions of many other enthusiastic and active traders like yourself, and also learn from their experience. Remember, fairness wins out in the end – especially in dealings with fellow users. And to ensure that everyone knows how to keep the peace, here are the "house rules" to make life easier for all of us.

  1. Even if the postings are anonymous, please keep in mind that, behind every comment and contribution, there is a real live person who would like to be treated in a friendly and polite way. Please adapt your response accordingly, because "freedom of speech" is not the same as "freedom to act the fool".
  2. Although it might seem that way, you are not putting your post in an unlegislated space. Violations of any applicable laws, incitement to commit criminal offences, and statements that contravene general standards of public decency are not admissible and will be removed immediately. For legal reasons and to prevent abuse, we store the IP address of the author for each posting.
  3. Forum and Chat are not intended for the purposes of commercial advertising. The Support Team or the Moderator may remove commercial advertising and spamming without informing the sender and, if repeated, disable the corresponding login data.
  4. If you become the target of personal attack, we suggest that you refrain from sending a direct answer – it really is better to report the relevant posting to the Moderator. Moderator and Support will then take steps to smooth out the troubled waters and initiate the necessary de-escalation measures. In this way, we want to prevent the Forum from being misused as a venue for personal vendettas in which “more fuel is added to the flames”.
  5. If a user does not agree with the action taken by a Moderator, he is entitled to complain to Support. Support will then examine carefully whether the objection is justified and will, if applicable, revise the corresponding decision. If, on the other hand, the review finds the situation to be entirely clear and if it is judged that the decision was correct, then this judgment will be final and binding, and any further discussion on the matter is closed.
  6. Please put yourself in the position of the person(s) you wish to address, and make sure that your posting really fits into the Forum or Chat. Consider whether your posting would possibly be more appropriate in some other forum or chatroom. Postings that are off topic may be deleted or moved by the Moderator without further comment.
  7. Finally, we have a request to make of all users: If you notice that a posting does not conform to these rules, please inform us so that we can take the appropriate steps. Next to the e-mail address, some users will see the button “Report Abuse” in each posting.

Procedure for Infringements of Netiquette

What happens when ...? Here you will learn how our Support Team restores the peace again after breaches of netiquette. The Team swings into action during their routine checks of the Forum or whenever you report a posting to the Moderator. Please support us by making sure that the standard of friendly relations and correct behavior are upheld on what is essentially YOUR website.

Contributions are deleted whenever

  1. the author of the contribution requests it
  2. the contribution is off-topic
  3. the contribution contains advertising
  4. the contribution violates the rules
  5. the content of the contribution is offensive or rude
  6. the content is illegal in any way (e.g. unethical, discriminating, defamatory, glorifying violence)

Every time a contribution is deleted in a justified manner in accordance with cases 2 to 6, the author of the offending post will be given a virtual “yellow card”. After every warranted deletion of a post, we will warn the user by e-mail and – if we feel it necessary to inform the Community – also issue a notification in the Forum.

As a kind of self-regulating mechanism, the possibilities open to that particular author will become more and more restricted as the number of yellow cards increases (own threads can no longer be opened; the rating of analyses and Lexicon articles is disabled; the Message Center is blocked).

If it turns out that any of these contributions have been deleted unfairly, the Support Team will retract the yellow card(s), release the corresponding post again, and also lift any user restrictions.

Above a certain number of yellow cards – i.e. when the “red card” is looming – the Support Team will contact the authors directly and attempt to convince them of the necessity of observing netiquette

If the authors repeat the improper behavior or if it was insulting in nature, they will receive a further warning advising that suspension is imminent

If, despite all these attempts to keep the peace, there are continued infringements of this Netiquette, the corresponding author is blocked from using the Forum, Chat and Message Center, and also can no longer submit any ratings. The Support Team will inform the author about the suspension.

Note that the procedure described here serves as a guideline. If applicable, members of the Support Team can act according to their own discretion and deviate from the rules at any time without giving reasons (especially in case of very stubborn or impudent infringements).

Flame attacks, Flame wars or flaming - i.e. postings that are offensive or serve to incite users against each other, against certain websites, or against other persons – are deleted without comment at the discretion of the Support Team. If necessary, the entire thread is closed. The users responsible for such postings are given a warning, or may be expelled from the Community.

Data errors are handled separately. Such inaccuracies and bugs can be posted in the Forum in a special thread called Data Errors. If any postings that do not belong in this thread are published here, they will be deleted.
